busy day.. lets try to keep up

It's been a busy day in sports, so far, lets talk about some things...

first real quick, since I forgot to say it last night. My favorite hockey player by far Mr Brodeur came back last night, and in his first game since mid November had 24 saves and a shout out in a 4-0 devils win, that is great to see.

Now, moving on to TV, of course NFL free agency hit... so here we go.

Big Albert got it started right away with his 7 year 100 million dollar deal with the skins. I don't like this because now my Giants have to play him twice a year and he is a load. This makes them a better run defense, and really totally defense, just like that. They also resigned D Hall for 45 million, so they have their shout down cb as well... but until they do something to help their offense, I am not too worried

Kellen Windslow, better known as a fucking solder, was also traded today to TB. This is an interesting move. He is a good player when he is on the field, but that doesn't happen all the time. I think the Browns wanted to get rid of him because he is a bit of a ego, and distraction.

Fred Taylor has signed with the Pats, making them even better. They are just sick, they always do this. Find a veteran that a team throws away, that still has something left, the Pats sign them and make them in to a pro bowler again.

I just saw Kerry Collins has signed back with the Titans, the post doesn't say how long, I am guessing it is either one or two years. This is a smart move for them, he still has a strong arm, and he knows how to not lose games

Bart Scott will be following his old D cord to the Jets, he has signed a multi year deal, for around 8 million per. He is a stud LB, that will help their defense out a lot, as they go 6-10 next year.. if not worse.. depending on if they do anything about their qb spot.

I guess the Viks think that Sage is the answer at qb.. I respectfully disagree with that.

The Pats also dealt veteran LB Mike Vrabel to KC. This one doesn't make sense to me on KC side because they are clearly rebuilding, and you don't rebuild with 33 year old LB. But I guess you do need some veteran leaders in your locker room, so there you go. For the Pats, they just free up some more money.

There were other deals that I don't feel like talking about, or I don't know enough about them to talk about, so I will quickly move to one other thing

The Celtics signed Starburry and he may even play tonight. I wonder how he is going to take being a backup. Here is the question, does he want to win, and will accept his role, or will he blow up the team because of his ego, because in his mind, he is still a top 5, well, he thinks top 3, or even the best, pg in the NBA. I think this all but dooms the Celtics and the Cavs, sadly, will win the east. I wish my Pistons would play like the talent they have, but they way it is going right now, I am not holding my breath. Just wait, Marburry will become Starburry and ruin that team. I know a lot of people will say their locker room is strong enough, and they will get him in line, and I am sure that will be the company line, and he will be a good little solder for awhile, but just wait. The Celtics will not make it to the NBA finals now

Quickly bringing it back to college basketball, and I didn't see these games, just the high lites, but Zona had a bad loss last night to WSU. That hurts their big dance chances, a lot. Washington also had a big win vs ASU. Washington is not a bad team, as I have mentioned before. UCLA beat Stanford, not a surprise, and Cal also had a big win over USC in OT, which is a bad loss for USC and their hopes to get in. In other conferences, Memphis got another conference USA title by beating UAB on the road, and holding their best player scoreless. Gonzaga got a nice road win vs the university of Steve Nash, X got another conference win, as did Butler. And in the big east Cinci got a nice home win vs Huggy Bear and WVU. WVU is still in, at least I would be surprised if they are not, but now Cinci is right there in the talk too. Since the big east does get a lot of love, but I personally don't think Cinci should get in, their big east wins are to st john's twice, depaul, rutgers, ND, and g-town, so basically, the bad teams, besides this win to WVU, and ND isn't bad, they just are not as good as people thought, like g-town, depaul, st john's and rutgers are bad, and they have seaton hall and south fl left, which should be wins.. and cuse next, if they win that, maybe, but in non conference they have no good wins and they lost to fsu, memphis and X. They best win might be UAB or Miss State, either very good.. so right now.. I have them out But there is a lot of work left to be done, and I can't wait to watch and see what happens.

I think that is all I wanted to talk about. for now at least.. I'm right, you're wrong.

Nice win

Michigan got a big win tonight against Purdue, which I think all but gets them in the big dance. They now have 3 top 15 wins, plus if they finish over 500 in the big ten, and get either 19, or 20 wins, they have 18 now, I think they will be in. The one thing they can't do is lose their first big ten tourny game, they need a win there as well. But I think they have done enough to get in. As far as Purdue they of course will be fine, they are a good team, and will be a tough out, they are a sweet 16 lock in my mind, if not farther.

Tiger is out of his first tournament, after his first round win he lost 4 and 2 today. This was a tough one for him to come back to, we this format, normally you can have a bad round and be ok, in match play, you could shoot 6 under, and if the guy you are playing shoots better, you are done. Something tells me Tiger will be fine.

Did you hear Arod homered in his first game, seriously, it's preseason, everyone clam down, and relax. It's spring training, who cares, it's Arod he will have a good year, you know, until when it matters

MSU did not look great against Iowa last night, I didn't like how they didn't put them away, and it basically just stayed a 8-12 point game the entire way. I really do think MSU can make a run, mainly because of coach Izzo, but they need to play better. I am really looking forward to that game against Purdue at home, on either the 7th or 8th. I don't think MSU will make the final four, though they can, but I do think at least elite 8, sweet 16 at the worse, depending on match ups

Marquette had a big loss last night, not only did they lose at home for the first time, which against Uconn is not the worst thing, but they lost their best player and 4 year starter at pg in D James. I like James a lot, and it is too bad that his college career is going to end like that, with a broken bone in his foot. He had a great career and I wish him well in the NBA. I think he will be ok, but never a great star, but he was a great college player. It basically in my mind makes them go from a elite 8 type team to a team depending on match ups could be done in the second round. They still have talent, but there is no way you take him out and you still can play just as well.

Ill also had a nice win tonight against Minn. Minn really needs to get some better wins, they seriously may be in trouble, I think they will still be in, and they did beat Louisville, but they need some wins.

It was just reported on ESPN, that Manny has turned down his newest contract offer. 2 years, 45 million. Let me be clear about something, in no time of my life will I ever, and I mean, ever, no matter what turn down 45 million dollars. I don't know what he is waiting for, if they really think a new team is just going to jump in now with a 4 or 5 year deal they are crazy. I wonder how much of this is Manny and how much of this is the evil Scott Boris. I am sure he is going to play, he is too good not to, and in fact, I am all but positive that he will in LA. So just sign. The only reason why it isn't that big of a deal, is because, it's Manny, it's not like he would have reported to spring training yet anyway, and if he had, it's not like he would be working hard or anything.

Ok, that's enough for now, time for bed. I'm right, you're wrong.

Yeah I am happy

Today the Giants signed Brandon Jacobs to a 4 year deal, this means a few things. One, my favorite team will keep him for at least a few more years, which is great, because I love how hard he runs, and he is one of the better young RB in the game, two, my Jacobs jersey that I got for xmas will not be cursed, like the burress, shockey, and lavar jerseys that came before it, and three, I will just mention again, I love Brandon Jacobs, period.

Tiger looked ok today, nice to get a win, I really think the test will be tomorrow, and then if he keeps wining the next day, lets see how that knee holds up, it has been awhile, but Tiger is Tiger, and he can play on one leg, as we saw.

Speaking of Tigers, the Detroit Tigers won today, I know it's just the first game of spring training, but with the way the Pistons are playing right now, and how bad their season was last year, I am looking for any positives.

Speaking of that, I will be making my officially "put it on the board" baseball predictions soon, so look out for that.

I am going to stop this now, because I want to continue drinking my ice cold miller light, the unofficial beer of the schwanda sports blog... just cause they don't pay me anything... in fact, I have to buy it myself, and watch a lot of basketball tonight, the Pistons play, hopefully they will not lose again, but I am not counting on it, MSU plays, and uconn-marq is right now, plus CMU-BSU that I am listening to on the radio. I'm right, you're wrong.

New Week

It is another Monday, and where a lot of people may be looking forward to big Monday Tonight with G-town vs Louis, and Kansas vs OK, I hope Blake plays, I am worried about our game tonight vs BC Central. A game we should win. Hopefully our guys will come out ready to play, and we will get a nice team victory. Moving on to some things that happened over the weekend that I want to give my two cents on:

- My only hope is Joe D will say enough is enough and either get a coach that can coach, rookie coach with a old team, doesn't work, or he gets the players fired up. I hope that getting killed on national tv will play to their pride and they can turn this thing around. Again, there is no doubt in my mind they will make the playoffs, and the fan in me still thinks they can do something once they get there, but it is looking like more and more of a long shot with each passing game. One other quick note, a good friend and former college roommate of mine has boycotted the NBA, and says he is better for it. He just doesn't watch games anymore. I am thinking about doing something like that, but in stead, I think I am going to try to watch more Pistons games, and support them in this their time of need. They have had a nice run, but the last thing I am is a fair wheat her fan, I am not going to leave when times get hard. I don't watch as many NBA games during the year as it is for a few reasons, I like college basketball more, and with coaching high school, I am gone a few nights a week, and have to follow that as well.

-MSU played a great 8 minutes yesterday to save them from the first 32. Wisconsin was knocking down some 3's, but MSU held in their and got a nice win. I am really looking forward to that rematch with Purdue in E Lansing

-Michigan lost a game that they had to win yesterday. Loosing by 10 to Iowa in OT. watching the highlights, it seems the end of the game did have a questionable call, but no excuse, that is a game you have to win. I really think this makes their only chance to go to the big dance is if they win the big ten tournament, or at least get to the finals. Very bad loss for Michigan fans.

-ILL had a tough win against OSU. Ill is in for sure, and I think OSU will still find themselves in too. In saying that, OSU, like Min, Michigan, and maybe even still Wis, has a lot of work to do. Wis is on the outside looking in for sure, but I guess they still have a small chance. As does PSU.

-OK losses Blake Griffen, on the road, vs a rival, and a good Texas team, they may be disappointing, but they are still good, and still have a 3 pointer with 10 seconds left to tie it. I thought they played very well, and if it wasn't for Aj going off, they would have won. Tonight against Kansas it will depend on one thing, if Blake can play, and play well. But being at home, I still like OK in this game, regardless.

-Maryland's Yellow jerseys must have worked. Great game, and a nice win for them. Maryland is a team you can count on every year to have at least two or three great wins, and two or three bad losses.

-Spring training is here, baseball draft, for fantasy, is coming up in a few weeks, I am looking forward to that, and trying to get in the money again, like I did last year.

-I didn't really follow the combine at all this weekend, too much basketball to watch, but as we get closer I will talk a little about the NFL draft, and will have a mock up sometime before the draft.

I hope everyone has a great week. I'm right, you're wrong.

Just some thoughts

The world may be coming to a end... why do I say this.. because S Telfair had 30 points and 8 assist the other night.. yeah, I know.. got to love the NBA. Also Ramon Sessons and his 11.8 ppg average had 44 against my pistons.. super. Here are some other things I want to quickly touch on.... note to all.. I have been drinking a good amount of crowd tonight, so take that for what it's worth.

-The Pistons lose by 4 tonight to the Spurs, they played better, because AI was actually aggressive and took shots and had 31, if I remember right. I love shed, but down one with 11 seconds to go and you take a step back 19 feet footer, doesn't seem like the best shot. especially over the arms of Tim Duncan, one of the best.. if not the best, pf of all time. Maybe you keep the ball in AI's hands and let him create, have him get to the basket... just a thought.. again, I love shed, I have 6 shed jerseys, but that was not a very good shot down one at that point of the game, especially when AI just went right by Tony Parker the last time you had the ball to give you a one point lead before the Spurs came back to take the lead. Then down 3 with 5 seconds to go, AI is the one taking the 3, he is shooting 28% or so from the 3 point line... basically I would rather have shed take that 3 at the top of the key, and the play before AI get to the basket.... But, I am a piston fan, and I will remain a piston fan. Yeah this year hasn't been good, ok, it has sucked so far, but we had a nice run, for about 7 years, and the future still looks good. Stuckey will be a great pg in this league imo, and we will have 35 Million under the cap to work with this summer. We will still make the playoffs, because the east's depth is so bad, and who knows, if Curry actually figures it out by then, we could still do some damage. The problem is, most rookie head coaches take over young teams. Curry takes over a veteran team, who will flat out not listen to you, if they think you don't know what you are talking about. Curry is more there friend then coach, they don't respect or listen to him. Why do you think during that entire run that the pistons had, where they won 50+ games, were either the one or two seed, and got to the ecf every year for 6 years, that the only time they won a title was under Larry Brown.. Because maybe they didn't like him, but they respected him enough to listen to him. I still think they can make some noise in the playoffs.. because I am a fan, and I am blinded by my love. But either way, they will be back, and continue to be a top team in the east.

-Purdue kicked the crap out of MSU on Tuesday, now because of my coaching, I didn't see it, but give Purdue credit, they are a good team, and I am telling you, they are going to be a tough out come March. This just all but sets up a game to close the reg. season in e Lansing for the big ten title... I may just have to go to it.

-The Trade deadline came and went today and nothing really big. I thought the bulls and kings both made some great moves, and the blazers and thunder tried to. The Rockets wanted Aaron Books to be the guy, and now he can be, and the Magic found their Nelson replacement, for the rest of the year. A lot of little moves, but none that I want to touch on.

-Can all the people saying the Suns are back because they put up 140 and then 142 on back to back nights in their first two games under Alvin G please shut up. It was against the Clippers, both games, and both games they were without camby, my boy CK, and basically Zack, though that was his fault. They basically had two layup/dunk drill games in a row. Will they win some more games playing this way, yes.. will they get any farther in the playoffs, no, because in a 7 game series it still comes down to stopping people, and they still can't.

-My Chippewa basketball team got a great win last night, beating NIU by 19. With all the injuries we have had this year, our starting 4 and 5 done for the year, the 5 before the year started, the 4, very early, we are still only one game out of the mac west.... note.... the mac is really bad, and the mac west, is even worse then the mac east. We have to win our last two conference home games, emu and Toledo, very doable, and if we can steal either bsu or wmu, I would prefer western, we have a chance. I really like the way we are going. We are moving forward as a program. It will take some time, that happens, when you win 3 games the year before a new staff comes in, but in year 3 you can see this team really buying in, and they are starting to win games, that we never would have, and getting players to come here, who we would never get... now we just need to get some fans out to the game to suppor them.

-Sticking with CMU real quick, and I know no one cares.. but just in case someone does read this that knows.. or if you are from Kent state. Congratulations. Tonight KSU beat CMU wrestling, that is number #23, I think, beating #7 in the nation folks.. yes my alma mater is #7 in the nation in wrestling, in a year that we lost 4 all Americans and have 7 new starters.. anyway. Like I was saying KSU beat CMU in wrestling 18-14 to win the MAC regular season title. Why would I mention this, because CMU has won the last ten, yes TEN, regular season titles. We still can win the tournament title, but for this year the regular season title belongs to the golden flashes. So good job, you guys earned it, you came in to rose area and you won, fair and square. This was the year to get us, and you did. I do think it is great for the MAC, it helps the other teams, in improving the entire conference as a whole. And even though we are a top ten team, and beat the likes of mizzu, Michigan, msu, Leigh, and other wrestling powers, this year, the mac, at least, regular season, title is yours.

I don't have anything that I want to add right now, so I will end this here, I'm right, you're wrong.

tuesday talk

Well I was right about one thing, Blair is a beast. 22 and 23 for him, 5 and 4, and fouled out in 23 minutes for HT. He is undersized, but he is such a load. I really like the way Pitt plays, and since they play physical and play defense, and start 3 srs they are going to be a tough out come March.

One thing I need to know, cause I will admit, I haven't really seen them play this year, is Mizzu really that good. They are ranked 10 right now, and they are 22-4, but are they good. Someone who has seen them play, please, give me your thoughts. I will have to look out for them, and try to catch a game or two in the next week or so.

The Suns firing Porter though half a season is stupid. Give the guy a chance. Admit that your time is over, and rebuild, and give the guy a chance. The problem with them, they have no real talent to build around. except amare and he may be gone soon. They need to lock him up, get anything they can for shaq, nash, j rich and hill, and start over. Firing a coach half way though their first season is just dumb.

That is all I wanted to talk about real quick right now, maybe more will follow later. Looking forward to MSU-Purdue tonight, though we have a game at the High school, so I will miss almost all, if not all, of it. I'm right, you're wrong.

Big Monday

Pitt at UConn is the big east showdown game of the night, and week, and I am very much looking forward to it. It should be a good game. UConn is loaded, but Pitt is very good as well. Blair may not be as tall as UConn's "big" but he is a load. He uses his body well and has more points and rebounds. Sam Young has also played well this year, and then there is Fields who IMO is the most underrated pg in the nation. He can flat out play, and more importantly, he flat out wins. In saying all of that, at UConn I still think the Huskies will win. But there is a lot of other things going on this week, and things then went on during the weekend, that I want to touch on.

-MSU at Purdue, Big game tomorrow in the big ten. This is a big test for the Spartans, especially if they want to keep their prefect record on the road in tact, at least in true road games. Purdue is a very good team, and playing at home, it should be tough to beat them, if, and that is a big IF, MSU plays their best game, I still think they can win, even at Purdue, but if they don't, Purdue will win. Since I am a MSU fan, I will pick them to win, but I am looking forward to a good game.

NBA All Star weekend:
I will look at other college games as the happen this week, but lets look back right now to ALL Star weekend:
Friday- Kevin Durant is a beast
Saturday- It is just more impressive when a small guy drunk, even with a little help from his hand pushing off, Nate Jumping over Dwight is sick.
Sunday- Oh Kobe and Shaq, Shaq and Kobe, together again. Now everyone can talk about them getting along again, and how great it is, and do you think they really like each other now, is it all fake? I personally don't really care. I love Shaq, he killed it with the Jaba walkies, he just knows how to entertain. He also had a nice game, in only 11 minutes, having 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 or 4 assists. But Kobe has 27, I don't know how you make them co-MVP. Oh, yeah, cause Shaq was playing at home, and they thought it would be funny to have them up there together.. lets see what happens. The funniest thing is they were both coached again by Phil Jackson. Who if you ever read his book, you would think there is no way of that happening. Good to see time, or money, can make people forget.

-It was a good all star weekend, and I look forward to the second half of the season. with the trade deadline coming on Thursday, I expect to be talking a little more about the NBA in the next few days, but college basketball to me is still king, and the most important, and most fun to watch. My high school team only as one game this week as well, so that may make it easier to add more post this week about the other things that are happening in the sports world. Have a great week. I'm right, you're wrong

What a night

Thursday night, no games for me to coach or go to, so I was staying at home, close to the TV having some daddy pops, and what do I see;

-ND beats Louisville by 33, yeah 33. Wow, ND nice way to break your 7 game loosing streak, beaten the 7th ranked team in the nation by over 30. To be fair 6 of those 7 games were to ranked teams, so that may save them a little, but they still need to get some more wins, and I think, get some help. Meaning all the one bid conferences need their favorites to win, i.e Utah state, Davidson, ect, and all the big conferences can't have a team that wouldn't have made it win, unless of course ND wins the big east tourny, then they are in anyway, but they can't have Arkansas win the sec, Virginia win the ACC, Iowa win the big ten, for example. They are still a good team, and tough to beat at home, especially when shooting well, but if they do get in, and I do mean IF, I don't see them getting out of the first weekend.

-ILL-Northwestern- I will be honest, I only watched about 2 minutes of this game, good thing it was the last two. How crazy. Ill wins by one, and their first, and only lead of the game is with 2.5 seconds left. When I turned it on Northwestern was up 59-50, with under 2 minutes to play. Ill made some big shots and then they were helped by a jump ball, they had the arrow, a travel on another trap, and the fact that this "road" game play at Northwestern had just as many, if not more, fans cheering for them then it did the Wildcats. I don't know if I have seen that before. Northwestern is even a decent basketball team, they have some nice wins this year, at MSU comes to mind, and they have one very good player, and for them to have that much of a disadvantage in a home game is terrible. I would be very upset if I was a Northwestern player, coach, or student who was at the game. They need to get more people there, they just gave away a "neutral" court game that was played on their campus.

-UCLA-ASU- ASU sweeps UCLA in the season series thanks to a few things. One they have two great players, two, they hit some timely shots, three a very questionable call on Collinson that I thought should have tied the game and sent him to the line for one, and instead was called a block, then the technical was the right call, for hitting the ball before it was inbounded, that was a very big call, and then ASU made their free throws. If I was a UCLA fan, which I am not, I would be very upset about that charge call, that to me, it looked like he slide under while Collinson was in the air. If I was a ASU fan, which again, I am not, I would be very happy for a great win, and tell UCLA fans to shut oup, you had your chances and the better team that night won. ASU 1-2-2 macthup zone gave UCLA some problems, and this opens up the PAC 10 a little more. Since now UCLA has 3 losses to join Washington and ASU.

-Gonzaga one a very close game, 72-70 vs St Mary's without Pat Mills, on the road. Any road conference game is a big win, but it brings up the question again, is Mills going to come back in time to save their season? Are they going to have to win the WCC conference tourny to get in. Or if they get to at least the finals, with Mills back, and then losses to Gonzaga again, will the committee not punish them for what they did without their best player. Bottom line, they need to be careful to not lose too many more games, they need to find a way. The Nation needs Pat Mills in the big dance, he is that good, and he needs to be there.

-NBA Trade- what? I saw this and I have some questions and some thoughts. The Heat trade Marion and Marcus Banks to the Raptors for J O Neal and J Moon. Now, Marion's contract is over at the end of this year.. he will not be staying north of the border, and J.O.N. contract is up after the 09-10 season. I know the Heat were looking for someone to take Banks and his contract off their hands, but to give up Marion for J.O.N. doesn't really make much sense to me. I don't know if this is a good trade for either team, time will tell. For the Raptors now you have a more athletic wing player to play the 3 to go with bosh, and for the Heat, you get a guy who CAN be a low post threat to go with d wade, charmers and Beasley. But J.O.N. is not the same guy he was a few years ago, so I really have to question what they are getting, and if it will make them any better. Time will tell, but my first thoughts were...ummm, that is odd to me.

-I am sure we are not done with NBA trades before the deadline, at least I hope we are not. All Star weekend is here in the NBA and I am looking forward to it. The NBA all star game is by far my favorite of the 4 major sports all star games. You couldn't pay me to watch the pro bowl, I didn't know the NHL game happened, and baseball is ok, but it still doesn't really matter to me, I don't get excited for it. the NBA game is basically just a no defense version of the game, so more scoring, which everyone loves. It should be a great game, and a entertaining weekend.

That is all I have for now. I'm right, you're wrong.

getting caught up

So there are some things I want to touch on quickly here while I have a minute.

- I was lucky enough to go to the Michigan-Michigan State game, it really helps when a kid you coach is being recruited hard by both teams, and it was a great time. I got the closest I will ever get to Erin Andrews, which by it's self would have been enough, but we also got to go in the Michigan locker room after the game and talk to the coaches. That was sweet, they were all very nice, and down to earth, we ended up staying there talking to them for about 30 minutes or so. Our seats were great, front row behind the basket on the Michigan side, it was a great game. Michigan just didn't make their 3's, and they need to to have a chance because MSU is the better team. Both teams played hard and great defense, as their defensive rotation and close outs were very good. Sims played the way he always should, but Manny had a very bad game. For MSU Roe is getting stronger and stronger, who knows if his knee will every get back to what it was his JR year of high school, but even if it doesn't, he is still a great player, and will only get better. Great night, and a nice win for MSU, who still has not lost a road game this year.

-Duke-UNC- This game I really don't care who wins as long as it is close, so I am kind of sad that UNC pulled away a bit. But with the way them, and Uconn are playing right now, the only question is who will be the other two teams to join them for the final four in the D. Lawson played great last night, showing why he is one of the best, if not the best, I think he is, pg in the nation. There are a lot of other great pg, but I will take him. The only guy I would think about is Pat Mills when he is at 100%

-This just in, stop me if you have heard it before, Brett Farve announced his retirement. I really hope he just goes away at this point, but I don't think that will happen. Instead, by July, he will be feeling better, and thinking, maybe I can do it one more year. I hope it doesn't happen, but just wait, there will be at least one Farve thinking about coming back story come June or July... just don't say I didn't warn you.

-Tonight is the first night this week I will actually be home all night and spending some time with my wife and daughter since last Thursday.. here as been my week since, not that anyone cares:
Friday- high school game (coaching)
Saturday-college game (cmu)
Sunday-high school practice then went out for two friends birthdays
Monday-high school game (coaching)
Tuesday-college game (msu-uofm)
Wednesday-high school game (watching 3 players I coached on AAU play 2 other guys I coached on AAU.. and 3 other guys who were on other teams in our program)
tomorrow-high school game (coaching)

-Did you hear Arod took drugs

- I am waiting to hear the new phelps remix to "but I got high"
I was going to go to the Olympics, but I got high
I was going to win 8 more golds, but I got high
and now I'm loosing my endorsements and I know why
cause I got high, cause I got high, cause I got high
It should be on Utube soon, if someone hasn't already done it. Cause I just came up with that not even thinking about it, so you know someone somewhere has done it, or will be doing it soon.

-Wake lost again last night, again I will say, this will happen, they are young, they are going to lose some games that they shouldn't.

I think that's all I want to talk about now, if I remember anything else I will add it later. I'm right, you're wrong

what a week

wvu-pitt, fl-ken, michigan-msu, duke-unc, and many many more. This should be a great week of college basketball, and I am looking forward to it. Much more on all of those games later in the week, but for now:

AROD- Did the smart thing by stepping up and saying he is sorry, which of course he isn't sorry he did it, he is sorry his name got out. But he was one guy of 104 from that test, I think either all names have to come out, or none of them. Bottom line, all guys who played from 99-2006 should have their own requirements for making the hall of fame.. just have a drug wing of the hall of fame. Because you still have to hit the ball, and field, or throw.. If just one guy did it, yeah, throw him out for good, but if there was 104 names from that 03 test, who knows how many players actually were doing it during that maybe 7 to ten year span... Just make a separate level for what those players need to do..... btw, I am so tired of hearing about this in baseball... I hope this is my last post about it. I'm right, you're wrong.

I forget to add

Some quick things I forgot

-Congratulations to Indiana getting that much needed first big ten win. At home vs Iowa, for my money it will be their only win, but way to go. They have a great coach, he's a mt pleasant and cmu guy, and he will turn it around

-All this Lebron 52 and triple double vs kobe's 61 is really getting on my nerves. A few things I want to say about them:
A) It's against the Knicks
B) They are both great, why can't we just enjoy them both
C) Look at both games, Kobe's was more impressive because they were all trying to stop him, the Cavs game, was up and down and a free for all with zero defense, Al Harrington had 39 points and 13 rebounds, that is all you need to know about that game. I mean he is a good player, but not that good
D) Did I mention it was against the Knicks... they play no defense, who cares.

-Now that it has gone final congratulations to Pat Summit for her 1,000 win as a college coach. Say what ever you want about women's sports, but Coach Summit is one of the best college coaches in any sport, period. 1,000 games, that is sick. Well done coach.

I just forget to add those things to my first Thursday post, now I am going to go back to watching ILL-Wis, and the rest of Celtics-Lakers. I'm right, you're wrong

Thursday thoughts

Just a few things that are on my mind right now

-I owe Clemson a big apology, I'm sorry, I really over looked you guys, and you are much much better then I thought. I know it is just one game, and it is at home, but I don't care, if you beat Duke by 27 then you are doing something right. They will not fall off and not make the tournament like last year, they are in, and you know what, they are a good team. Duke also, will be fine

-My Spartans are so much fun. They showed last night the same reason why it is hard to be their fan sometimes, and also why it is great. the game after losing to PSU at home, they come out and beat a ranked Min team by 29. There two big ten losses are bad, both at home, against Northwestern and PSU, who both have a great player, and scorer who went off in the game, but they still sit atop the big ten right now,and I see them as the favorites still. With Purdue's loss to OSU they no longer have two losses, so now it's MSU, and everyone else. I believe 3 teams, Purdue, PSU and ILL with two losses, and then a few more with 4. Wisconsin is not going to make the big dance, but now PSU and Northwestern with a few more wins can actually get in. Michigan and OSU also need to keep wining, MSU, Purdue, and ILL are in IMO and Min will also be in before it's all said and done.

-National signing day yesterday went very well for me. My chippewas got a very strong class for us. It was a big class, with grey shirts and preferred walk ons I believe we are up to 34. That is great, Coach Jones and his staff are doing a great job. MSU also had a very strong class, and maybe their best ever top to bottom. LSU is ranked as the number one overall class, but you really can't tell about these things till two or three years down the line. It is just a fun day, and ratings just give us something to talk about.

-If anyone still watches the pro bowl, please tell me why

-da U took care of bisnas last night as well beating Wake by 27. Wake is very talented, and they are a good team, but they are also a young team, meaning these shorts of things will happen. They will have some great games, and then come out and have some bad games. They will still be a tough out come March, Teauge is the real deal

-Texas lost at home last night to Mizzu. This is a shocked to me, because I do not think Mizzu is that good at all, and the game was in Austin

-They should just give Blake Giffen the player of the year award now, and get it over with

-They should just give OJ Mayo the Rookie of the year award now, and get it over with. I know his team is bad, but he is a flat out stud, he is made for the NBA and can score on anyone.

-Pat Summit goes, again, for her 1,000 win tonight, I really have a feeling this will be the night. Good luck to her and her Lady Vals

-ND last again last night, that's 6 in a row now, to cinci this time, to be fair this is the first game of the 6 not against a team ranked higher then them, but still, these are the games you have to win in the big east. They basically now have one chance to dance, and that's to win the big east tourny, not that they can't do it, but it will be very hard, especially if they are the 11th or 12th seed. NIT here we come.

-My Pistons actually won a game last night, beat the Heat. 93-90. I am just happy when ever they win now. This season is basically a waste. We know they will still make the playoffs, and I, being a stupid fan, still think they have the talent that they can make a run at it, but either way, they were not going to win it all with Billups and this way they clear up a lot of cap space and are still at least a playoff team, instead of waiting too long and getting nothing and being a lottery team for a few years to turn it around. It's rebuilding while still being competitive.

-Big game for my High school that I coach at tomorrow, as we play the two time defending state champs Saginaw high Trojans. They may not have Draymound Green (msu) or Daniel west ( ten) anymore, but they are still loaded with talent. Basically we need to take care of the ball, make a lot of shots ( of course) and find a way to stop dribble penetration ( that's going to be the hard part) But you always like to play those big games against great teams, so it will give us a chance to see what we are made up. we lost at the buzzer on Tuesday, so lets see how we bounce back.

I'm right, you're wrong.

Tuesday Tales

A few things on my mind, that I will quickly mention.

-Pat Summit did not get her 1,000 win last night vs number 2 ranked Ok, who are very good, but she will, it's only a matter of time

-Butler lost a conference game for the first time in 23 games, I believe, they will still be fine, with all there young guys this was suppose to be a rebuilding year

-Pat Mills will be out till the end of the coference season, or start of conference tourny week, this is a big big loss, since he is one of the best,if not the best, pg in the nation. We will see if this slips them all the way down to having to win the WCC conference title to get in to the big dance.

-Kansas has had 3 big 12 road games in a row, all on ESPN.. the world may be coming to a end... this is a little joke between me and my old rm chaz, we would swear all Kansas home games were on epsn, to the point where we thought a production truck might just stay there, but never did they show conference road games... until now

-ND and G-town are both in trouble.. I tried to warm people about G-town.. no one listens

-Uconn had a great road win last night, they are deserving of that Number one ranking, and still the second most talented team behind UNC. I wonder how they will mess it up and not make the final four?

-In the NBA, Kobe had 61 last night against the Knicks for his 5th 60+ point game in his career, passing MJ and moving him second on the all time list. Second is where he will stay unless he manages another 27, as wilt has 32.

-Bynum is also hurt again and out 8-12 weeks. Lets just go ahead and say it.. we were all waiting for that to happen. The Lakers will be fine, but it does open the West up a little, I still like them to get to the finals and lose to either the celtics or cavs, as much as I hate to say it.

-National signing day is tomorrow.. I am very excited

-Baseball training camp starts in less then 2 weeks

quick thoughts

The super bowl was a good game, of what I saw of it. I honestly did not watch the entire thing, I really just caught some of the first half, and then the last 5 minuets. I really am bitter about the Giants not being there.. But now it is over and I can start to focus on the draft, and next year. I was close with the score, for the Steelers at least, I had 24-14, and they had 27. In a text I sent out before the game, I said it would be 27-17, so I had their score right in that text, cause that is what I thought I picked, but I guess I didn't think it would be high scoring, I am just glad it was a close good game, and like I said, now we can move on to the draft. But before I do that, we still have National Signing day on Wednesday. CMU has a nice class so far, so it looks like it should be a great day to be a Chippewa, as all days are. My high school team is up to 8-4, even though we didn't play well on Thursday and our best player, the best player in the state IMO, and many others, had a bad game, 21 and 9, bad for him, but a win is a win. We have two big games this week, both at home, so hopefully we will be ready to go.

In college basketball I love MSU, and they are doing well this year, but they have two big ten losses and they are to PSU and Northwestern, and both at home. ( they beat both of those teams on the road this year) Both of those teams are better, and they both have two great scorers but come on. You need to save some losses for at Wisconsin, even though they are struggling right now, or at Purdue, don't waste them at home vs PSU and Northwestern. Now of course they will be fine, they are a lock to get in to the big dance, and still have just as good a shot as anyone to win the conference.. it is either going to be them or Purdue. But you can't give games away like that. Also real quick, the fact that Manny Harris got ejected from the game yesterday is one of the worst calls I have ever seen in my life. I don't even think it was a foul, you teach players to do that, face the pressure, turn and face, be strong with the ball, he caught and turned, you get a elbow in the face, oh well, maybe they will think before sticking their nose in their.. that is just a good basketball play, if anything it is a defensive foul, for a block, not giving him room to turn.. but it should have been a no call, if anything just a foul. Michigan was outscored by 20 when he was thrown out, and lost by 18, I wonder if that had a factor on the game. I don't even like Michigan, but it is wrong for a refs call to have that much impact on the game. Someone said, and I agree, the reason why he was thrown out was because of the Novack elbow in the OSU game, and the refs wanted to stop any physical play. I agree with that, but what happens in the last game should not effect how you are calling this one. Bottom line, he caught the ball, and squared up, he did nothing wrong.. nothing

But I move on. I am really looking forward to the rest of the college basketball season. I think UConn is going to get a shot at number one, I want to say they play Louis tomorrow on Big Monday, that should be a fun game. I'm right, you're wrong.
